About the Workshop

Led by Boston Globe staff writer Steve Rosenberg, the Personal Essay Writing Workshop is an intensive, one-day class where writers learn techniques to tell their stories using a stress-free process. All participants will receive a book on the personal essay, individualized edits of their first draft and by the end of the day will have written the first essay of their memoir, book or blog. Participants will also have the opportunity to read segments of their essays to the class. The workshop will also include a free, follow-up edit of a work in progress.

About the instructor
Steve Rosenberg is a staff writer at the Boston Globe and is a graduate of the Bennington Writing Seminars. He is an adjunct writing professor at Salem State University, and his work has appeared in numerous national and international publications. He is also a documentary filmmaker and his films have been shown on PBS, CBS and other networks. He is the husband of Dr. Devorah Feinbloom.
